When women approach menopause, hormone levels — especially estrogen and progesterone — naturally decline. This shift often leads to hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, fatigue, and problems with memory or concentration. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is designed to replace these hormones with versions that are chemically identical to what the body produces.
Starting BHRT during perimenopause or soon after menopause can provide meaningful relief. Many women report better sleep, fewer hot flashes, improved mood, and greater sexual well-being. Beyond symptom relief, estrogen therapy can also help maintain bone strength, lowering the risk of osteoporosis and fractures later in life.
Research supports that beginning BHRT earlier — generally within 10 years of menopause — offers the best balance of benefits compared with risks. Women who choose early treatment may find themselves not only feeling better day-to-day but also building stronger protection for long-term health.
